Furthermore, if the materials contain toxic or harmful substances and migrate into the food, it can directly endanger human health. Therefore, the safety of food contact materials has increasingly become a concern for people.In recent years, governments of various countries have successively enacted or updated laws and regulations on food contact materials to strengthen the supervision of food safety. In China, the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) successively issued a series of safety regulations and standards for food contact materials in October 2016, and began to implement them in April 2017.
